Here at NWER we help horses from all walks of life. Our aim is to save horses from slaughter and to work with other organisations and rescue missions.
North West Equine Rescue Inc. was set up in 2011 by a small town country girl. We save horses from sale yards, last minute rescues from doggers, and work closely with other regional authorities and rescues. NWER accept surrenders and house horses repossessed from council pounds, police and animal welfare officers.
Once horses come into NWER's care they have any medical and behavioural issues addressed, are well looked after and prepared for rehoming.
NWER buy horses from sales all over NSW and QLD with money they have raised, put aside from our own pockets or have been donated by a very generous public. We are a not for profit organization and pride ourselves in helping a wonderful animal. We, with help of our foster families, are able to take up to 10 horses at one stage.
